“Lyra and Lūrlen” is Eventstellar’s twenty-third single and the final release within the canon of the band’s second album “Love Is a Distant Signal”. Recorded in Reykjavík, Iceland in April 2020 at Skógafoss Studios, mixed and mastered at Proxima B Studio. The single was produced by Arnar Sigurðsson, Jesse Hvelsson and Johannes Balsary. It was recorded by Sōun Kanda, mixed by Ewan Fairchild, Sigurður Norðljós, Milo Harlan and mastered by Magnus Thomasson with Thor Linanne.

The single brings the narrative of Lyra and Lūrlen to its closing chapter. As the final release in this canon, it completes the arc that began with a distant call cast into the void and ends with recognition, union and the birth of Sakura, a new horizon.

“Lyra and Lūrlen” presents the central story in its most serene and luminous form. Built as an electro dream pop piece with a chill ambient mood, the song tells of Lyra’s solitude beneath the Southern Cross in Ushuaia her home town. Her nightly transmissions into the stars and Lūrlen’s awakening to her call from another world. The stars that once held them apart now become the witness to their union. The song also opens the image of what comes after their meeting: a shared future, a child beneath twin suns and the beginning of a new destiny born from love across worlds.

“The ballad of Lyra and Lūrlen” retells their story in a more reflective and intimate register. Where the title track carries a softer dreamlike glow, this ballad gives greater weight to the path that led them to one another. It revisits who Lyra is, who Lūrlen is and how their bond was formed through distance, imagination and faith in something beyond reason. The song centers on the moment of encounter, but it also serves as a summation of the entire journey, gathering the signal, the waiting, the dreams and the voyage into one emotional thread. In this version, their meeting feels not only like fulfillment, but like inevitability, as though the whole canon had been moving toward this moment from the very beginning.

If Fate Is Kind (Alpha Centauri Version)” closes the single through a gentler and more earthbound form of longing. Inspired by an experimental blend of Red Hot Chili Peppers influence and a soft California funk sensibility, the song imagines love through warmth, breeze, shoreline light and quiet intimacy. Rather than presenting the vastness of the cosmos through grandeur, this version translates devotion into touch, memory and the dream of simply being beside the one long awaited. It carries the feeling of paradise after distance, where fate is no longer an abstraction but the hope of walking together in peace. As the final variation within the release, it offers a tender closing gesture, where cosmic love settles into something human, sensual and calm.

Lyra and Lūrlen is the conclusion of Love Is a Distant Signal as a canon of transmission, search and arrival. Across its songs, the single gathers the full arc of the story and gives it closure through union, remembrance and possibility.

What began as a thought sent into the unknown reaches its answer here. Lyra and Lūrlen are no longer separated by galaxies, silence or dream. In this final release, two distant worlds become one and the signal that once crossed the void becomes a life shared beyond it.
