“Electric Universe” is Eventstellar’s eighth single and the fourth official release from their debut full-length album Strangelet. Recorded in May 2017 at Skógafoss Studio in Reykjavik and The Warehouse Zone in Dublin. The single was produced by Matt Dublin and Manley Brown, with additional production assistance by Graham Ashcome. It was engineered and recorded by Sōun Kanda, mixed by Einar Solheim and Asher Parsons with assistance from Cian Solheim and finally mastered by Thor Linnane.
Background vocals on the lead track were performed by Éowyn Árnadóttir.
This single expands Eventstellar’s sonic terrain into realms of electric tides, dream pop atmospheres, and cosmic reflection—bridging modern signal flow with timeless stellar emotion. Across three compositions, it channels the charged tension between decay and ignition, silence and surge:
“Electric Universe”opens the release with a luminous, future-facing anthem. Through lines like “No redshift trails / No entropy,” the song imagines a cosmos in constant charge—a storm of currents with no collapse, no silence. Blending space pop textures with poetic precision, it redefines the universe as a field of living energy, flashing across the astral grid.
“Electric Universe (Gilmourish Version)” reinterprets the original with a tone shift toward nostalgic futurism. Warm, panoramic and textural. This version evokes a timeless space—where plasma tides move slowly and memory hums beneath the stars. It offers a more contemplative descent into the electric pulse of the universe.
“Starwaves”closes the single with a dreamlike drift through distance and disconnection. Driven by minimal rhythms and cosmic saxophone. The track portrays the loneliness of deep space, the fading signal of forgotten stars: “No one speaks / No one stays.” It is a meditation on echo, silence and the quiet waves that remain after light has passed.
Electric Universe stands as a radiant junction in the Strangelet journey—where light, matter, and sound meet in the magnetic heart of creation.
