Mrs. Borderline is Eventstellar’s seventh extended play and the thirty-first release in the band’s official discography. Released on July 7, 2020 and re-released on October 30, 2026 by Sólir Music. Across five tracks, the release examines the darker aspects of romantic attachment, where desire, emotional instability and disillusionment become difficult to separate.

The EP was produced by Söothe, Conrad Fenwick, Ellis Marlowe, Aodhán Mac Craith, Alexander Sheehan and Matt Dublin. Mixing was handled by Declan Ellison, Gareth Mullen, Séarlas Ó Duinnín and Matt Dublin, while mastering was completed by Arvid Skeldal, Thor Linanne and Declan Ellison. The recordings also feature Eochaidh Ó Loinsigh on Celtic harp and Irish low flute. The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered at The Warehouse Zone in Dublin, Ireland.

At its center is the portrait of a woman caught in a restless search for affection, intimacy and belonging. Her relationships unfold through conflicting emotions, impulsive decisions and recurring disappointments. Yet the narrative also follows the perspective of someone drawn to her contradictions, struggling to reconcile admiration with the consequences of an increasingly troubled attachment.

“Fuck you!, I love you” portrays the contradictions of an attachment that survives repeated arguments and disappointments. Its blunt refrain captures the frustration of loving someone while recognizing the damage caused by the relationship. The song offers no resolution, only the admission that walking away remains harder than returning.

“Mrs. Borderline” presents the EP’s central character through a series of unsettling images. Fire, mirrors, cigarettes and restless encounters reveal a woman struggling with desire and emotional turmoil. Beneath its confrontational language, the song portrays the loneliness of someone unable to find stability in love.

“The ballad of Brenda Frânces” offers a gentler perspective on romantic fascination. Unlike the surrounding compositions, the song approaches its subject through dreams, twilight and celestial imagery. Its repeated declarations of admiration provide a moment of tenderness within the EP’s otherwise troubled narrative.

“She walked in ruins” follows the emotional aftermath of a relationship that has ended after a long period of time. Its central character struggles with abandonment and the unsettling experience of being replaced. The recurring image of walking through ruins becomes a portrait of grief, wounded pride and the difficult search for love after a profound personal loss.

“Mrs. Borderline (Kókaín Version)” returns to the central themes of the title track, placing greater emphasis on compulsive desire, emotional excess and the search for temporary relief. Its altered lyrical repetitions reinforce the character’s recurring patterns of attraction, disappointment and self-destructive behavior. This song brings the EP back to the emotional conflicts established in the original composition.

Mrs. Borderline ultimately stands as a final dedication to an elusive figure, remembered through fascination, tenderness and disappointment. Its five compositions preserve different impressions of the same emotional experience without attempting to reconcile them into a single portrait. What begins with anger gradually reveals something more vulnerable: the difficulty of letting go of an imagined possibility, even after the reasons for believing in it have disappeared.
