“No Dinosaurs Left to Cry” is Eventstellar’s sixteenth single, released worldwide through Sólir Music on November 25, 2018. Both tracks were recorded at The Warehouse Zone in Dublin, Ireland during October 2018. The single was produced and mixed by Matt Dublin and Arlo Winslow and mastered by Magnús Thomasson.
This two-track release is Eventstellar’s most mournful to date. A quiet requiem for a world erased and destroyed. Somewhere between lo-fi dream rock and raw cinematic sorrow, No Dinosaurs Left to Cry explores extinction not as an event, but as an emotional landscape. The bones may be buried, but the echoes still sing.
The title track No Dinosaurs Left to Cry fuses lo-fi textures with a melancholic melodic drive. With its dusty atmosphere and understated delivery, it tells the story of cosmic doom through a lens of lost innocence. “Meteor fell from the sky / Shattered earth as time went by,” the voice intones, as if singing from the ruins of deep time. The song blends existential weight with melodic simplicity, embodying the sadness of knowing that even giants can vanish without a sound.
No Dinosaurs Left to Cry (Sorrow Version) reimagines the same narrative with slightly cleaner production and a more condensed structure. Though the lyrics remain nearly identical, the performance leans further into resignation. A softer, more ghostly interpretation of the already devastating theme. The outro fades into silence with a single line: “Extinction’s story etched in time.”
The cover art completes the vision: a massive fossilized spine resting under the Milky Way, a celestial tombstone above the bones of what once ruled. With No Dinosaurs Left to Cry, Eventstellar mourns not only the past, but the idea that memory itself can vanish swallowed by time, lit only by distant stars.
