The Shadow Eye
Written by Jesse Rómlárson
Smoking a cigarette in a lonely corner
When the light shines, it breaks the shadow
The light lets me see strange things
Suddenly I feel your cold breath over me
Walking down the street, you follow me
I don’t know you, but you know me
Your prayer is in the air, I can hear it
I’m afraid, it’s not a game
He feels the shadow eye upon his back
It’s the shadow eye, in the dark
It’s the shadow eye, in the mind
It’s the shadow eye, in time
I look around the ghost house
The whisper in the air breaks the silence
I see a strange man with a black hat
He calls my name, I’m still afraid
He tells me it’s time to go to another land
There are no more things to do in this life
I ask him for another cigarette
‘Cause I know when this is over, I will go away
I feel the shadow eye over my back
I feel the shadow eye close to my hands
It’s the shadow eye that’s stealing my life
It’s the shadow eye that finishes the game tonight
I know that the shadow will pass
And the light will come
With hope that I will walk
Into the arms of God
The morning after night
When the sun will rise
I will feel alive
And I will smoke another cigar
