“Threads of light” is Eventstellar’s fifth single and the second official release from their debut full-length album Strangelet. Originally released on May 30, 2017 and set for re-release on May 30, 2025, it was produced by Manley Brown with additional production assistance by Rúnar Sigurðsson.
The recording was engineered by Sōun Kanda, mixed by Einar Solheim with assistance from Cian Solheim and mastered by Thor Linnane. Recorded from February to April 2017 at Skógafoss Studio in Reykjavik and The Warehouse Zone in Dublin.
This single continues Eventstellar’s journey into the unseen structure of the universe, reflecting on the delicate threads that bind galaxies, gravity and human meaning. It unfolds across three interconnected tracks, each exploring different dimensions of cosmic interconnection:
Threads of light opens the single with a meditation on the invisible filaments of the universe—the cosmic web that holds space and matter together. The lyrics speak of mystery and grace: “We’re held by hands we’ll never sight.” Through melodic swells and atmospheric textures, the song captures the elegance of the forces that move through the void.
Laniakea is named after the immense super-cluster that contains our Milky Way—a boundless region where galaxies flow along gravitational currents. The song captures the vastness of this celestial domain through slow-building dynamics and poetic lyricism: “A cosmic web, a boundless sea / The great unknown, it’s calling me.” It is a sonic map of belonging and insignificance on a universal scale.
Laniakea (Kosmic Version) reimagines the original song with a more ambient and immersive approach. This version drifts like starlight over water, infusing the piece with a tranquil, oceanic quality that blurs the boundary between sea and sky, space and self.
This release deepens Eventstellar’s conceptual and emotional arc, anchoring their sonic identity in the gravitational dance between form and formlessness—where space is not empty and silence is never still.
