“Unknown source” is Eventstellar’s twentieth single and the second release within the canon of the album “Love is a distant signal”. It was released on March 20, 2020 through Norðurljós Music. It was recorded, mixed and mastered in Iceland at Skógafoss Studios & Proxima B Studio between January and February 2020. The single was produced and mixed by Eldar Jónsdal, Aoífe Byrne, Örn Snævar Hákonarson, Matt Dublin, Graham Evans and Söothe. With recording by Soun Kanda and mastering by Magnus Thomasson, Declan Ellison and Thor Linnane.
This single expands the first movements of contact between Lyra and Lūrlen, placing the story in a space where signals, memory, longing and imagination begin to take form across impossible distance.
“Unknown source” marks the first moment in which Lūrlen becomes aware of a signal he cannot identify or trace. It arrives without warning, like a pulse breaking through the normal order of his existence and immediately unsettles the silence around him. The song captures the instant when something unknown begins demanding attention, when distance is no longer empty and another presence starts to emerge through code, memory and light.
“The Ballad of Ro Jordan” carries the feeling of devotion from afar, where music, beauty and fantasy become vessels for attachment. Ro Jordan appears as a distant muse, someone whose presence is felt across impossible separation, as though her voice and image travel farther than either of them can understand.
“Remember my name” speaks from the shore, from a place of solitude where voice becomes offering and memory becomes resistance against disappearance, carrying the ache of wanting to be remembered across absence, across time and across the breaking force of distance. It becomes a hymn of endurance, identity and devotion against oblivion.
Unknown Source explores first contact, distant fascination and the desire to remain remembered beyond absence. It is a single about the first traces of recognition, when a signal becomes a presence and when the cosmos begins to reveal that love may already be moving between two worlds.
